Oliver Twist ist ein Gesellschaftsroman von Charles Dickens, der unter dem vollständigen Titel "Oliver Twist, or The Parish Boy's Progress" (Oliver Twist oder der Weg des Fürsorgezöglings) von Februar 1837 bis April 1839 in Fortsetzungen in der Zeitschrift "Bentley's Miscellany" erschien. Oliver Twist ist Dickens' zweiter Roman und wahrscheinlich sein heute bekanntestes Werk. Er wurde mehrfach für Theater, Kino, Fernsehen und Comic adaptiert. Charles John Huffam Dickens (1812-1870) war ein englischer Schriftsteller.
