Aunque Walt Disney catapultara para la inmortalidad en 1940 la figura de Pinocho en la gran pantalla como película de animación, sus orígenes se remontan a la obra del florentino Carlo Collodi (1826-1890), pseudónimo de Carlo Lorenzini. En su recuerdo y para glosar la pervivencia del mismo, sale a la luz esta obra para que el lector, niño o adulto, vuelva a soñar con sus aventuras de un personaje casi tan universal como El Quijote y se recree con una magnífica iconografía.
